PAUL G. DELORE

Paul G. Delore, 81, a long-time resident of Mill Valley and former chancellor of the Consulate General of Belgium in San Francisco, died Monday in a San Francisco hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Society of Helpers Chapel in San Francisco. Burial will be private.

As chancellor, he was second in command of the consulate for 26 years before retiring in 1972.

Delore received a medal, the Knight of the Order of Leopold II, from Belgium King Baudouin in 1969 for his many years of service to the country.

The native of Lyon, France, later became an American citizen. He obtained a law degree from the University of Lyol in Lyon before coming to the United States in about 1941. He moved to San Francisco about 1 ½ years later and then to Mill Valley in 1954.

He is survived by a son, Gilbert Delore of Sunnyvale; two daughters, Evelyn Norris of Mill Valley and Noel Delore of Stockton; and seven grandchildren.
