FRED LA ROCK
San Rafael resident

Fred John La Rock, a San Rafael resident, died Nov. 8 at his home. He was 78.

Mr. La Rock was born and raised in San Francisco and graduated from Commerce High School. During World War II, he worked in the administration of the War Shipping Administration/Maritime Commission at the Richmond Shipyards, where Liberty Ships were built. He made his career in the fields of international trade and transportation, and was for many years employed by Getz Bros. and Co., Inc.

He was a mason who was a member of Starr King Lodge #344 and Fairfax Lodge #556. He was also a member of the Marin Shrine Club.

He is survived by a niece and nephew and many grand-nieces and nephews. His wife, Dorothy J. La Rock, died in 1994.

A private service will be held at his request.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento 25817.
