CULLEN, Ida M., 75, passed away December 12, 2001. Keaton's, San Rafael, 415-453-0571.


Ida M. Cullen
Died in San Rafael December 12, 2001, she was 75. Much-loved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Born to Italian-American parents, Ida grew up in upstate New York. She came to Marin County in 1951 where she met her husband, Philip J. Cullen Jr., and settled in Terra Linda to raise her family. Ida retired from the County of Marin, having worked many years in the Tax Collector's Office and in the District Attorney's Office, Family Support Division. A woman of deep Catholic faith, she was a long time member of Saint Isabella's Parish. Ida was an excellent hostess and cook, her home was the center of many happy holiday celebrations and family gatherings. Proud of her heritage, she enjoyed everything Italian from Giuesspe Verdi to calamari. Ida loved to travel and had a penchant for Las Vegas and Reno. A practitioner of the Golden Rule, Ida was an excellent wife and mother, and a very dear friend to many. Ida is the daughter of Lillian Pepe and the late Armand Pepe, and the sister of the late Joseph Pepe. She is survived by her sisters Margaret Cassella and Anita Young; her brothers Armand Pepe Jr. and Ralph Pepe; her sons and theirs wives Melanie and Richard A. Cullen, and Jane Chesson and Philip J. Cullen III; her seven grandchildren Michael, Andrew, Daniel, Brooks, John, Katherine, and Mark; and by many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass Monday December 17, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Isabella's Church, Terra Linda. A Vigil Service will be held Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Keaton's Mortuary. Entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the Mortuary, Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
