Mrs. Valley Dies At 69
Funeral services will be held tomorrow for Mrs. Katherine Valley, resident of San Rafael for about 55 years and a dry goods employee with the former Albert’s store for over 30 years.
She died yesterday at a local hospital after a long illness. A native of Ireland, she was 69 years old. She came to Marin as a young girl and lived most of her life in San Rafael. She was living with her daughter, Mrs. Colin Menzies at 417 McGee avenue, Mill Valley, during her illness.
She also leaves two other daughters, Mrs. H. H. Albachten of San Rafael and Mrs. Douglas Painter of Santa Rosa. Her husband, the late John Valley, died about 35 years ago. He had been a railroad man in Marin.
Mrs. Valley was a member of the Lagan Institute, YLI No. 52; Catholic Daughters of America; National Council Catholic Daughters; Social Service Auxiliary; and Retail Clerks’ Union No. 1119, all of Marin.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. from Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael, thence to St. Raphael’s Church for Requiem High Mass. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Rosary services will be recited at 8 tonight at the Keaton chapel.
