J. F. Messner, Old-Time Resident, Dead
Jake F. Messner, father of Rodney L. Messner, Marin county engineer, died last Wednesday of pneumonia after an illness of three days. Messner had been for six years bridge tender at the Grand View bridge on the Black Point cut-off. He had lived in the county for over thirty years.
He is survived by a widow and two sons, Rodney L., and Clinton, of San Francisco.
The funeral was held at the Eden parlors on Friday morning at 11 o’clock. Rev. Earnest Bradley officiated. Mr. Messner was a member of the W.O.W.
