OBIT: RITES HELD FOR H. N. KUECHLER - Henry Norbury Kuechler, former executive of the Standard Oil Co. of California, was laid to rest in Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael, on Monday, Jan. 7. He died at the age of 80 on Saturday, Jan. 5 in his home at 425 Haehl Street, Cloverdale. Private services were held for him in Cloverdale on Jan. 7. The family asked that n o flowers be sent. Contributions to the donor’s favorite charities were accepted instead. Fred Young & Co. Cloverdale, was in charge or arrangements. Mr. Kuechler was a native of Beardstown, Ill. He moved to California in 1899 and came to Cloverdale in 1949. He retired in 1942 from his duties with the oil company, where he was managers of the pipeline department. In 1901 Mr. Kuechler was graduated from the Stanford University School of Engineering. Throughout the remainder of his life he retained a keen interest in the activities of the university. For more than 50 years Mr. Kuechler was a member of the San Francisco Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Sierra Club and the Commonwealth Club of California. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Foster Kuechler, Cloverdale; two sons, Henry Norbury Kuechler, Jr., of Atherton, and Lawrence Foster Kuechler of Kentfield; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Kuechler Peters of Germany and Mrs. Martha Kuechler Byrne of Salt Lake City, Utah; a
sister, Miss Ione S. Kuechler of San Francisco and by seven grandchildren.
