BENJAMIN L. BABOW

A private service was held Tuesday for an optometrist, Benjamin L. Babow, 79, of Kentfield.

Babow died Monday at Marin General Hospital. He is survived by his wife Bernice Babow of Kentfield; two sons, Gene Babow of Kentfield and Dr. Lawrence E. Babow of San Rafael; and two grandchildren.

Babow was born in Kiev, Russia, and came to the United States as a young boy. He lived in San Francisco before moving to Kentfield in 1952.

He was a 50-year member of Lebanon-Pacific Lodge No. 136 of the Masons, and a 57-year member of the California Optometric Association.

Entombment was at Salem Garden Mausoleum, Colma. The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity.
