Death Takes Wife of M. T. Freitas
Mrs. Maria B. Freitas, wife of M. T. Freitas, president of the Bank of San Rafael and Vice Consul of Portugal, passed away at her home on Fifth avenue last Thursday afternoon.
Death came to her after a long but patient illness and not unexpected. Physicians had done everything their skill and knowledge could command to relieve her condition. She is survived by a large family of sorrowing children who mourn with their father the untimely death of a good mother and wife. She was but forty years of age.
The funeral was held at St. Anselm’s church in San Anselmo last Monday, and requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Ribero, of San Jose, a personal friend of the family. Burial was made in Holy Cross cemetery, San Mateo. The arrangements were under the direction of Dr. F. E. Sawyer.
The honorary pall bearers were M. T. Freitas, Jr., William P. Murray, Thomas P. Boyd, A. Azevedo, William Scott and J. C. Valin.
The surviving children are Mrs. J. Rose, Marie, Manuel T., Helen, Carlos, Edward, Louis and Walter Freitas.
