MARY BATTLE
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Battle, 87, a San Rafael housewife, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Mission San Rafael Arcangel.
Mrs. Battle died Monday at a local convalescent hospital after an illness.
She was the widow of Dr. Sheldon Battle, who had served as a physician at San Quentin Prison.
Mrs. Battle was a native of Marin and lived here most of her life.
Surviving is her daughter, Alexandra Catlett of Coupville, Wash.
Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at Keaton’s Mortuary, San Rafael. Burial will be at Mount Olivet, San Rafael.
