GEORGE T. ARNOLD
Dies at 92
George Turner Arnold, a 56-year resident of San Anselmo, died yesterday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 92.
A native of Reading, Kansas, Arnold had lived in Marin County since 1913, moving that year to 1124 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, where he resided until three years ago. He and his wife Nellie then moved to an apartment at 406 Via Casitas, Greenbrae.
Arnold was a cashier with Southern Pacific Railroad in San Francisco for 40 years until his retirement in 1950.
He was a member and past president of Marin Lodge No. 191, Free and Accepted Masons, and a member of the Session of the First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Preston C. Hyde of Colorado, and three daughters, Audrey M. Davies and Imogene M. Guffin, both of Kansas, and Frances R. Thiel of Nevada. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael, under the auspices of Marin Lodge No. 191, Free and Accepted Masons.
The family prefers memorial gifts to the San Rafael First Presbyterian Church Second Century Building Fund, or to the Masonic Home.
