MARGARET ELIZABETH COLTEAUX, A Retired Nurse
Passed away peacefully at Rafael Convalescent Hospital on December the 12th, 2001 at age 92. She was born February 9, 1909, in Atchison, Kansas, to Henry and Elizabeth Buser--the eldest daughter of a family of nine children. Margaret began her nursing career in 1930 after graduation from Saint Francis School of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas. She married her late husband, Charles Colteaux, in 1932 and they moved to Southern California in 1936, where she continued her nursing career. Margaret and her family moved to San Rafael in 1948. She was first employed at San Rafael's Cottage Hospital and later at Ross Hospital. When Marin General Hospital opened, Margaret joined the nursing staff and was employed there until her retirement in 1970. She concentrated her service at Marin General in the delivery room of the Obstetrics Department, assisting in the delivery of hundreds of Marin's children. During her retirement she proudly enjoyed her numerous meetings with the mothers and the children she had helped to deliver. Margaret is survived by her three sons, Eugene Colteaux of Longview, Texas, whose wife, Jacqueline, is deceased; John Colteaux and his wife Genevieve of San Anselmo; and Norman Colteaux and his wife Sharie of San Anselmo. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend Memorial Services on Tuesday, December 18, at 11 a.m., at Saint Anselm's Church, Ross, California. The Family requests memorial gifts be made to Hospice of Marin, 150 Nellen Avenue, Corte Madera, CA 94925. Interment will be private. Monte's Chapel of the Hills San Anselmo, California, 453-8440.
