Dies of Injuries

The body of Gustavo Rosales, 24, of 538 D Street, San Rafael, who was fatally injured in a collision in San Francisco yesterday, was to be returned to his native Texas today, a family friend reported.

Rosales, a resident of San Rafael for about a year, died of head injuries in San Francisco General Hospital three hours after his car was hit broadside by another vehicle at Park Presidio and Clement street during the morning rush hour.

Rosales had worked for the Travertite Co., South San Francisco, as a terrzo helper for about a year and a half. He was a member of the Terrazo Workers Union.

Members of his family were on their way in Texas for funeral services, a friend reported. Rosales leaves a wife, Carmen; two young children; a brother, Gilbert, of Oakland, formerly of Marin City and also employed by the Travertite Co., and a brother, George, of Los Angeles.

His parents and other relatives are believed to reside in Texas, the friend said.

The fatal accident occurred when a car driven by Willie Parker, 40, a San Francisco practical nurse went through a red light and smashed into Rosales’ car. The impact knocked the car into a traffic pole and Rosales was thrown out. Parker was uninjured.
