CAREY, William Timothy, 84, passed away December 6, 2001. Keaton's, San Rafael, 415-453-0571.


William Timothy Carey
US Army retired peacefully passed away on December 6, 2001 after an extended illness at the age of 84. He was the eldest son of George and Lorraine Carey. His death was preceded by the death of his brothers John and Joseph and his beloved wife of 58 years, Ellen M. Carey. He is survived by his son David Carey (Denia) of Seattle, Washington; daughter Barbara Stanton (Tim) of Winnemucca, Nevada; Pamela Carey of San Anselmo, California; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also mourned by his loving caregivers who have become family; Monica, Julio, Alex, Junior, Andy and Irma. Mr. Carey Served with the Canadian Army during World War II until the United States entered the conflict at which time he enlisted in the US Army. He saw combat during WWII and the Korean War. He continued to serve his country until his retirement as a Major in 1960 due to health problems. Mr. Carey became the Comptroller for the Arizona State Division of Rehabilitation until his health again required him to retire. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Hilary Church. 765 Hilary Drive, Tiburon, California.
