Shot Himself in the Abdomen

MANUEL CARLO PRONZINI, a young man who was employed at milking cows on the Maltoni Ranch at Ignacio, accidentally shot himself Sunday. He saw some black birds near the house and went in to get the gun, came out and shot once at the birds and then sat down, holding the gun with the muzzle pointing toward him and playing one foot up and down on his leg and along the gun stock evidently thinking the gun unloaded. His foot caught the hammer of the gun and a charge was sent into his abdomen. Death came soon after the accident. An inquest was held in Coroner Eden's parlors Tuesday morning and the verdict returned of death by accidental discharge of shotgun by himself. The witnesses examined were Carlo Ghidossi, Guido Parlelaei, G. Pronzini, and Dr. W.F. Jones. Pronzini was 23 years old and a native of Lumino, Switzerland. The funeral will take place from the undertaking parlors today.
