Body of an Unknown Man
Found Off the Coast of Belvedere by Two Men From Tiburon
The body of an unknown man was found off the west coast of Belvedere last Sunday by M. Hardmann and J. Scott of Tiburon. Coroner Eden was notified of the affair and the body was brought to San Rafael. Nothing could be learned as to the man’s identity at the time of the discovery of the body, and the inquest has failed to reveal anything further. The face was so swollen and disfigured by the action of the water, that recognition from this source would be almost impossible. In his pockets were found about $1.61 in money and some keys and other trinkets, but nothing by which his name might be discovered. The inquest was held Tuesday morning at the undertaking parlors of Coroner Eden, the verdict being “cause of death unknown.”
