William Randolph Leathers
Passed away October 22, 2001 at age 83. He was born in St. Louis Missouri and raised in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Mr. Leathers attended Taft Prep. School and was a graduate of Yale University in 1941. He served in the O.S.S. as a Captain during World War II. He taught map reading in Aberdeen, Maryland during the war. He married Anne Flaherty in 1944 and they resided in Kansas City, Missouri until 1967 when they moved to Greenbrae, California. Mr. Leathers was employed with John Hancock Life Insurance Co. as a general agent for 35 years. He was a consummate traveler, a railroad and cruise ship connoisseur. Mr. Leathers was predeceased by his wife in 1971; and a son, "Ned" Edmund Leathers. He is survived by daughters, Anne Clune of Seattle, Washington and Martha Arrington of Lockeford, California; son, Randy Leathers of Greensboro, North Carolina and five grandchildren. Chapel Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Keaton's Mortuary in San Rafael, CA. Visitation will not be held. Committal at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, Lodi Unit, 207 East Alpine Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Lodi Funeral Home.
