TED D. GIBSON
Ted D. Gibson, longtime Mill Valley real estate man, died at a local hospital yesterday after a long illness.
Gibson, 70, was born in Oregon and began his schooling in Idaho. When he was a teenager, his family moved to Mill Valley, and he went on to graduate from Tamalpais High School in 1924.
He owned his own real estate firm and was an honorary life member of the Marin County Board of Realtors.
He was a charter member of the Mill Valley Lions Club and its first president. He belonged to the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce and Mill Valley Lodge No. 356 of the Free and Accepted Masons.
During World War II he served in the Army and was a member of the American Legion.
He lived at 326 Miller Avenue.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. Gibson of Mill Valley; a brother, James E. Gibson of San Jose, and a sister, Elena Walker of Aberdeen, Wash.
The Mill Valley Masonic Lodge will conduct his funeral Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Russell and Gooch funeral home in Mill Valley. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
