HARRY SMITH, a fourteen year old orphan boy, was killed at Corte Madera last Thursday evening about 6 o’clock by being crushed beneath a barrel of wine which fell from the end of a wagon. The wagon was just leaving the depot and as the wheels struck a rut the barrel started to topple over. Young Smith grabbed at it but his strength was not sufficient to keep it upright and it fell to the ground. It carried the little fellow with it and crushed his skull against the ground.
