PETER T. SINCLAIR Dies At 63
San Francisco (UPI) – Peter T. Sinclair, chairman of the board of Crown Zellerbach Corp., died today at the age of 63 after a short illness.
Sinclair had been board chairman of the big paper firm since April, 1969, and previously served six years as its president.
He was with Crown Zellerbach more than 40 years, beginning as an electrical engineer at the Port Townsend, Wash., plant in 1928.
Between 1952 and 1956 he was at corporate headquarters in various capacities and then went to Vancouver, B.C. to head Crown Zellerbach Canada, Ltd. Until he returned to San Francisco as executive vice president in 1959.
He is a native of Portland, Ore., and a graduate of Oregon State University.
Sinclair is survived by his wife, Kathryn, two daughters, Mrs. Roland F. Banks Jr. of Portland, and Mrs. John T. Collins Jr., of Belvedere, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. S. Gordon Smith, Roseburg, Ore.
Funeral services were scheduled at the N. Gray & Co. Chapel in San Francisco at 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Portland.
