Margaret M. S. Ward Dies At 89
Funeral is pending for Margaret M. S. Ward, a long-time resident of Sausalito and a 50-year member of the Sausalito Women’s Club.
Mrs. Ward died Saturday in a local hospital following a long illness. She was 89.
She was a member of the Sausalito Women’s Club; in her later years she was made an honorary member when she no longer could be active. She was the founder of the Sausalito Junior Women’s Club and a member of the Sausalito Salvage Shop.
Born in Belfast, Ireland, she came to Sausalito 65 years ago. She was the wife of the late Herbert Ward, an employee of Standard Oil Company.
Surviving are a son, John Terrance Ward, and a daughter, Margaret Ward Monroe, both of Sausalito. She also leaves five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Sausalito Salvage Shop, specifically to the fund for war-orphaned children. Burial will be private.
