NIXON, Reva 27 of San Rafael, passed away October 1, 2001. Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery-Mortuary, San Rafael, 415-459-2500.

Reva Nixon
Age 27, a life-long resident of San Rafael, died at home on October 1st, 2001. Though only 27, Reva lived an exceptional and fulfilling life. As the first documented survivor of a recurrence in 1979 of her type of brain tumor, Reva became a ground breaker and pioneer in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. While Reva lived within medical limits, her life was not defined by them. She received the Marin Education Fund Achievement Award for Outstanding Student in 1993 upon graduation from high school. She loved her family, her work at the Exploratorium, rock music, the 49ers, drumming, shopping and people. Reva participated in life with a zest comparable to no one. She is survived by her mother Lee Nixon and her father John Nixon. She was preceded in death by her brother Antonin. There will be a memorial tribute to Reva on Sunday, October 21st, at 6 p.m. at the Exploratorium in San Francisco.
