AGAJAN, Alfred X. 94, of Tiburon, passed away October 9, 2001. Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel, Mill Valley, 415-388-1573.
Alfred X. Agajan
Age 94, of Tiburon, died peacefully at home on October 9, 2001. Born near Batumi, South Russia on August 19, 1907. His family fled Russia, and lived in Korea and Japan. Educated by the Marianist Brothers at St. Joseph International College in Yokohama, Japan. Attended Dayton University in Ohio. Returned to Japan and was employed as an auditor with the Ford Motor Company. Interned during World War II in Karuizawa, Japan, as an enemy alien. Emigrated to the U.S. in 1946. Alfred settled in Tiburon with his wife, Jude, to raise their four sons. Retired from employment with American President Lines. Alfred was a convert, active member and lectern at St. Hilary Church. In his youth he was an avid tennis player and horseback rider. A member of the Tiburon Peninsula Club. Enjoyed writing and having his letters published in the Marin I. J. He is survived by his wife, Jude; sons Peter, Max, Brennan and Noel; daughter-in-laws Mireille, Sandra, and Shellie Agajan, and Susan Berryessa; grandchildren Sebastien, Annabelle, Kevin, Dylan, Amber and Wyatt Agajan; and step-grandchildren Alexander, Jessica and Sarah Steinau; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jack, Peter and George Agajan. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 15, at St. Hilary Church, 761 Hilary Drive in Tiburon, with interment following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael.
