HOEFLEIN, Ray V. "Dick", 81, of Marin County, passed away October 10, 2001. Keaton's, San Rafael, 415-453-0571.
Ray V. "Dick" Hoeflein
Passed away on October 10th, 2001 at the age of 81. He was born in Crowley, Texas. While he was living in Texas, he worked as a rodeo clown. He was a charter member of the Cowboys Turtle Association, which later became the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. He lived in Marin County for 45 years. When he moved to California, he began a career as a marine carpenter. In the early 1970's, he and his wife owned and operated Cal's Steak House in San Rafael. Later, he and his wife owned and operated "The Biggest Little Flower Shop in The World" at the entrance of Spenger's Fish Grotto in Berkeley. He was married to Gladys H. Hoeflein for 54 years. She passed away in June, 2001. He is survived by his devoted son, Howard Ray Hoeflein and Caryn Reade of Penngrove, California. He is also survived by Berniece H. and Ed T. Maples, sister and brother-in-law; Jerry Hoeflein, brother; Judy K. Nelson, niece, and her husband, Earl L. Nelson; Leslie A. Parker, niece, and her husband, John B. Parker; and W. Scott Finks, nephew, and his wife, Jan Finks, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews in California and Texas. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 15th at 11 a.m. at Valley Memorial Park Chapel, 650 Bugeia Lane, Novato, California. There will be a reception at the Novato Horseman's Club immediately following the Service. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 14th at Keaton's Mortuary, 1022 E. Street, San Rafael. Memorial donations may be made to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Department of Pastoral Care, 1165 Montgomery Drive, P.O.
