40-Year Resident Dies After Illness
Death yesterday claimed John L. Semorile Sr., retired advertising salesman and a Marin resident for 40 years.
Semorile died in a local convalescent home after long illness. Before entering the convalescent home, he resided on Meadow way in San Geronimo.
He was a classified advertising salesman for the San Francisco Chronicle for over 30 years.
Semorile’s wife, Anne Elizabeth, died in 1957. He is survived by a son, John L. Semorile Jr. of San Rafael; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Clarence Joyner of San Francisco and Mrs. Izma Stock of Mesa, Ariz., and four grandchildren.
Mass of Requiem will be offered at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Raphael’s Church in San Rafael, with the cortege forming at 9 a.m. at Harry M. Williams Mortuary. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock tonight at the mortuary.

A Death Notice in the same paper corrects his sister’s name to Josephine Clare Joyner, and adds that he was also the brother of the late Norman Semorile.
