JEROME BRUNNER

Jerome E. Brunner, 55, longtime resident of Marin County and former part owner of Brunner’s Cleaners of San Rafael, died yesterday in a San Francisco hospital after a year’s illness.

Brunner and his wife, Lavena, had lived in Clear Lake Highlands, Lake County, where he operated a cleaning establishment. He lived in Marin County for 30 years before moving to Clear Lake.

Besides his wife, Brunner is survived by two sons and a daughter, Jerome E. Brunner Jr. and John Brunner of Novato, and Mrs. Kathleen Sanson of Connecticut; his mother, Mrs. Cora Brunner of San Rafael; four sisters and a brother, Mrs. Betty Zumsteg and Mrs. Gaynelle Rhein of Oakland, Mrs. Marie Hanlon, San Rafael, Mrs. Rose O’Connor, Santa Rosa, and John Brunner of San Rafael, and by nine grandchildren.

Brunner was part owner with his brother, John, of Brunner’s Cleaners in San Rafael for several years.

He was a past member of the San Rafael Exchange Club, the San Rafael Elks Lodge and was past president of the … [copy cut off]

A Death Notice on the same page adds that he was the son of the late Edward H. Brunner, and brother of the late Simion Brunner. He was a native of Tennessee. Funeral was held Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 9:15 a.m. from Keaton’s, Fifth and E streets, San Rafael. Requiem Mass was at St. Raphael’s Church at 9:30. Recitation of the Rosary was held 8 p.m. Tuesday at Keaton’s. Interment was at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hayward.
