de La Fontaine, Douglas J., formerly of Mill Valley, passed away October 5, 2001. Lafferty & Smith Colonial Chapel, Santa Rosa, 707-539-2921.
DOUGLAS J. de LA FONTAINE
Died on Friday, October 5, 2001. Loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Doug is survived by his wife, Trudy de La Fontaine; sons, Doug, Bill, Erik, Marc, John; and daughter, Suzy. Born in Fort Bragg on February 22, 1924, Doug was raised and lived in Mill Valley, retiring later to live in Forestville. Doug was a graduate of Tamalpais High School and U.C. Berkeley. He was a WWII veteran, awarded The Presidential Unit Citation while serving aboard the U.S. Submarine Cavalla. "Doug will be greatly missed and always loved. His patience, kindness, selflessness and humor will always be remembered by all who loved him, and we hope that the example he set with his life will serve to make us all stronger and better people." Memorial Services will be held at Summer Home Park on Sunday, October 14th, 2001 at 12 Noon. Lafferty & Smith Colonial Chapel.
