DR. ERNST WOLFF
Dr. Ernst Wolff, father of Ursula Jacobs of Mill Valley, died Wednesday at his home in San Francisco after a long illness. No funeral is planned.
He served as chief of pediatrics at Mount Zion Hospital for 28 years, retiring in 1969.
Dr. Wolff was born in 1892 in Germany and received his medical training there. As a young man he traveled to Palestine and served as a school physician in Tel Aviv. Dr. Wolff, who lived in San Francisco for the past 50 years, was affiliated with the University of California Medical Center, French Hospital and Pacific Medical Center.
He organized the Services for Handicapped Children at Presbyterian Medical Center, was president of the San Francisco chapter of the Mental Health Association and founded the first Citizens Committee for the World Health Organization.
Besides his daughter, Dr. Wolff is survived by his wife, Dr. Leona M. Bayer; a son, Thomas and another daughter, Carla Perez, all of San Francisco.
Memorial gifts preferred to the Mount Zion Hospital Department of Pediatrics or the Sierra Club.
