HENRY EHLERS
Funeral for Henry R. Ehlers, retired bank executive, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the West Valley Chapel, Los Gatos.
Ehlers was the father of Henry W. Ehlers of Tiburon.
He died Saturday in Los Gatos after a brief illness. He was 75.
Ehlers rose from Messenger boy to vice president of the bank after joining Crocker Bank in 1917. He retired in 1964, after many years in the bank’s Montgomery Street office in San Francisco.
He was born in Orinda and was educated in San Francisco schools and the American Institute of Banking. He was on the board of governors for the American Institute of Banking, was former president of the San Francisco Building Owners and Managers Association, and a member of the San Francisco Real Estate Board.
He is survived by his wife, Lois L. Ehlers of Los Gatos; one daughter, Mrs. James W. Fischer of San Jose; one brother, Earl R. Ehlers of Walnut Creek; his son, and eight grandchildren.
Burial will be private.
