Suicide of Patrick Rice

Patrick Rice, aged about 80 years, who lived in San Rafael for several years, committed suicide Tuesday. It seems that he and his wife, who lived in a cottage in the southern portion of town, had quarreled and the wife left the home, and when she returned Mr. Rice was found on the bed dead. Coroner Eden held an inquest Wednesday morning and the jury rendered the verdict of suicide, by taking an overdose of laudanum while temporarily insane.
