John Storholt Dies At 80
Funeral for John Storholt, a former San Rafael barber and long-time resident of Marin County, has been held in Santa Cruz.
Storholt died Saturday at his Santa Cruz home following a long illness. He was 80.
Born in Minnesota, he spent his early childhood in Orofino, Idaho. During his years in Marin County, he was employed at the Sanitary Barber Shop on Fourth Street.
Storholt was a World War 1 veteran and member of the San Rafael Chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He and his wife, Sammie, moved in 1961 to Santa Cruz, where he was active in the Senior Citizen’s Opportunities group. He was leader of that organization’s Memory Springs Orchestra.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Mabel Solberg and Minnie Tyra, both of Idaho.
Interment was at Sunset View Memorial Park in Berkeley.
