HOWARD AKERS

Howard L. Akers, 47, of 33 Roque Moraes Drive, Mill Valley, former owner of the Efficient Market in Mill Valley, was dead on arrival at Marin General Hospital early today, according to Assistant Coroner William Bradley.

Mill Valley police were called to the Brothers Tavern at 1:30 a.m. today to assist Akers who was apparently suffering from a heart attack.

An ambulance was called and he was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He was a native of Minnesota and had lived 18 years in California and Marin County. He was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Emma G. Akers with whom he lived and two brothers, Kenneth of San Francisco and Harold of San Mateo.

Funeral service is pending at Russell and Gooch Mortuary.
