Sullivan Hangs

At 10:30 o’clock yesterday morning William Sullivan paid the penalty of his crime at San Quentin Prison. He protested his innocence to the last. The unfortunate man was attended on the gallows by Fathers Eagan and Sesnon. Twelve minutes after the drop fell, respiration had ceased and Drs. Casey, Freeman, and Herzog pronounced life extinct. It will be remembered the crime for which Sullivan suffered the extreme penalty was the murder of a fellow miner names Spencer Gaylord two years ago in Tuolomne County.
