COIT, Benton Charles, 87, passed away September 22, 2001. Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo, 415-453-8440.
Benton Charles Coit
Died on September 22, 2001 at age 87. He is survived by Nancy, his wife of 49 years and their children - Benton C. Coit Jr. (and wife Doris) and Laurie O'Brien (and husband Dale). He also had five grandchildren, Allison, Jennifer, and Christine Coit and Morgan and Jonathan Peters.
He was a graduate of the Class of '36 at U.C. Berkeley and later served as President of the Business School Alumni Association. He was a C.P.A. and a retired partner of the firm Deloitte and Touche. He served as President of the San Francisco Chapter of the California Society of C.P.A.'s.
He was an avid golfer and a long time member of the Meadow Club. He most recently served on the Board of Directors of Sunland Vineyards Company and the Drown Foundation.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Meadow Club at 11 a.m. Friday, September 28th. A scholarship has been established in his name at the U.C. Berkeley Haas Business School, 520 Student Services Building #1904, Berkeley CA, 94720.
