BRAUM, Elke Annemarie, passed away September 18, 2001. Keaton's Redwood Chapel, Novato, 415-897-1151.
Elke Annemarie Braum
Daughter of Wilhelm Friedrich Knop and Hedwig Knop passed away peacefully while at home with her family on September 18, 2001. She was a loving mother and loyal friend. Her courage and strength will continue to guide her children, Thomas H. Braum and Victoria R. Braum and her friends and family who loved her. Elke Braum is also survived by her loving sisters Frauke Puetz, Heike Knop-Sohns, and Silke Knop-Stern.
Elke was born in Dortmund Germany on December 21st, 1934. She later received a Bachelors degree in French and a Bachelors degree in English at the University of Innsbruck. In 1973 she and her family moved to America. She then began to pursue a Masters Degree in International Relations, which she completed at San Francisco State University. She later pursued a career with the Department of Corrections for the State of California.
Her family will always remember her as a person who sacrificed her own needs in order to fulfill the needs of her children. Her children are extremely grateful to have had the privilege of having her as a mother. Her daughter-in-law, Sheryl R. Braum is honored to have known her as a woman filled with elegance, grace, and dignity.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service September 22nd at 1 p.m. at Valley Memorial Park Chapel, 650 Bugeia Lane, Novato. Keaton's Redwood Chapel, 415-897-1151
