Accidental Death
On Sunday afternoon Coroner Eden was notified of the finding of the body of LAWRENCE WALSH, of San Rafael, in Richardson Bay near Sausalito. The remains were brought to San Rafael and an inquest was held Wednesday morning. The jury returned a verdict of accidental death. He was a brother of John R. Walsh, and was 57 years of age, and had been a resident of San Rafael for 20 years or more. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery today.
From the evidence it seems that Walsh went to the city about a month ago, having $80 in his possession. It seems that after his money was exhausted he started for home on the theatre train Saturday night. He apparently missed the train at Sausalito and had started to walk to San Rafael when he fell from a trestle near the railroad shops.
Deceased was a native of Ireland, aged 57 years. His brother John keeps a saloon in this city. He was a worthy and respected citizen and leaves many warm friends in San Rafael.
