SORUM, Betty L., 75, of Novato, passed away September 18, 2001. Neptune Society, Novato, 415-898-1868.
Betty L Sorum, A Resident of Novato
Died on September 18, 2001 at the age of 75. She is survived by her daughters, Ann Maurer of Petaluma and Gayle Magnisi of Novato. Four grandchildren: Christopher Maurer of Washington, D.C., Kelly Maurer of Petaluma, Ellen and Cody Heimann of Novato, and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her ex-husband and life-long friend, John Sorum. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Westhope, North Dakota, she graduated from Tamalpais High School, and Healds Business College in Santa Rosa. She was retired from the Department of Social Services in Marin County. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Novato, and was active in church and social organizations for many years, including LITA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2001 at the Presbyterian Church of Novato, 710 Wilson Ave., Novato at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions should be made to: Evan Lynman Memorial Fund, c/o The Presbyterian Church of Novato, 710 Wilson Ave., Novato, CA 94947.
