THEISEN, Conrad 85, of Marin County, passed away September 9, 2001. Neptune Society, Northern California, 898-1868


Conrad Theisen

A resident of Marin County for 48 years, passed away in Tiburon on Sunday, September 9, 2001. He was 85.

Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1915, he and his wife came to California during World War II while he served in the Army Air Corps. Following his service, he moved to San Francisco where he earned a degree in Accounting from Golden Gate University. He became a Certified Public Accountant and worked most of his career for Employers Mutual Insurance of Wausau. He and his family moved into one of the first homes built in the Madera Gardens portion of Corte Madera.

After retiring in 1978, he spent much of his time playing tennis on the public courts of San Rafael, College of Marin and Palm Springs. He continued playing tennis until summer of last year. In retirement he took up Duplicate Bridge, and became a Bronze Life Master. He was also an active member for a number of years in the San Rafael Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lydia Theisen; their son, Ron Theisen; and his wife, Alice of Novato; and his three grandchildren, Scott and Kelly Theisen of Novato and Eric Theisen and his wife of Winter Park, Florida, as well as cousins and nieces in Wisconsin.

A Memorial Celebration will be held by the family at a later date.
