An Old Settler Gone

The death of Commodore C.H. Harrison, which took place last Wednesday night, was not unexpected, as the deceased gentleman had been a sufferer for some months past, and all that the best medical skill could do proved futile to stay the weird hadn of death. He had reached the good old age of 77 years and 7 months, and had been a resident of Sausalito for many years. He was president of the Sausalito Land & Ferry Co. For years he was one of the best known pilots of San Francisco, and amassed quite a fortune and long ago retired from active business.

The first ferry line that was started between Sausalito and San Francisco had the Commodore for its president. He was twice married, but leaves no family save a wife to mourn his loss. A man of sound principles and a true Christian gentleman was he, and he will be very generally missed.
