BARTH, John H. passed away September 8, 2001 Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery-Mortuary, San Rafael, 415-459-2500.
John H. Barth, A Long Time Resident of Marin County
Passed into eternal rest on September 8, 2001. He is survived by his daughter Joanna Leighton Nevesny, his sister Dolores Power of San Diego, nephews Thomas, Michael and Roger Power of San Diego and Richard Power of Dallas, Texas.
John was born in Evansville, Illinois on August 13th, 1912 and married Helene Petek in 1940. During World War II, he was the director of the American Red Cross Field Service in California, and developed the CARE distribution program in England in 1946. From 1947-1960, he was the European economic correspondent and an investigative reporter for the Chicago Daily News Foreign News Service. From 1960 until his retirement, he was a public relations consultant in the Bay Area.
His many friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, September 16, 2001 at 4:00 p.m. at the Tiburon Community Congregational Church Seminar Room, 145 Rock Hill Drive in Tiburon. Any contributions will be gladly excepted by Hospice of Marin or Rafael Convalescent Hospital. Funeral arrangements provided by Mount Tamalpais Mortuary 2500 5th Avenue, San Rafael, CA, 94901.
