Accident Near Tomales
Thomas Shugar Killed by a Train on Friday Evening
Thomas Shugar, a native of England, aged 48 years, was killed by the cars at Tomales on Friday night. Deceased, who was quite deaf, was walking along the track and the approaching train was hidden from view by a dense grove of willows. The engineer did not see the man until the train was almost upon him and it was too late to save him. He was thrown a considerable distance, but was not badly mutilated. Deceased was unmarried. He was well known in Tomales and vicinity.
