LEWIS, James R., of San Rafael, passed away September 7, 2001. Daphne-Fernwood Mortuary, Mill Valley, 415-383-7100.
James R. Lewis, Lt. Col. U.S. Army (Ret.)
A resident of San Rafael.
Passed away on September 7, 2001, after a long illness.
Jim was born on September 9, 1918 in Louisville, Kentucky and enjoyed an exciting and very rewarding Public Relations career in the U.S. Army; and for several years after, served as Assistant Director of Communications for the Department of Human Resources in Sacramento during the Reagan Administration.
He was a definite "People Person", always caring and helpful, and shall be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty, three children: Michelle, Pamela and Douglas (of Seattle and Los Angeles); six grandchildren: Stacey, Dakota, Kayla, Malia, Bailey and Jacob; one great-granddaughter, Peyton; a brother, George of Okeana, Ohio.
In his memory, we wish to thank all of the very caring and wonderful people of Hospice of Marin and ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to this most wonderful organization.
