Accidental Death of Patrick Lunny
On Friday morning, at about 2 o'clock, Mr. Patrick Lunny was found lying near the railroad track near the West End Depot with his skull fractured and in an unconscious condition. He was removed to his home and during the forenoon died from his injuries. The funeral was held Sunday with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. How he received his injuries is yet uncertain, but it is supposed that he was struck by the theatre train which arrives about 1 o'clock. An inquest was held by Coroner Eden on Wednesday but the jury adjourned until Saturday when further inquiry will be made.
Mr. Lunny was 68 years of age, a native of Ireland, and had been a resident of San Rafael for about 35 years. He leaves a highly respected family. Although the weather was stormy, his funeral was largely attended.
