JOHN EDWARD HOGAN
Federal loan officer

John Edward Hogan of San Anselmo, a federal loan officer from 1934 to 1969, died Monday, Oct. 1, 1990, in San Francisco at the home of a sister, Agatha Hogan. He was 80.

Mr. Hogan was born in Grass Valley and raised in San Francisco. He attended Marin Junior College. He moved to San Anselmo in the late 1950s.

Mr. Hogan served with the Veterans Administration, Small Business Administration and Homeowners Loans.

Mr. Hogan was a former member of the Sons In Retirement and a former member of the board of the Marin Art and Garden Center in Ross.

Mr. Hogan was “a great walker,” often making a daily round to Fairfax, said his sister.

In addition to Agatha Hogan, he is survived by two other sisters, Rosina La Voie and Genevieve McGinty, both of San Francisco. His wife, Margaret Hogan, died in 1971.

A private memorial Mass will be said.

His family asked that memorial contributions go to A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), c/o Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center, Box 7999, San Francisco 94120, or a favorite charity.

Arrangements are by McAvoy O’Hara Co. in San Francisco.
