MAE EUSTICE

San Anselmo resident Mae Rae Eustice, a former art professor at Wheaton College in Illinois, died in a local hospital from injuries suffered in a fall at her home.

Mrs. Eustice, 90, of 86 Melville Avenue, had been a resident of Marin County for the past 11 years. Before moving to San Anselmo, she lived in the Los Angeles area for 17 years.

A native of Illinois, she received her art training at Yale University and taught art at Wheaton College from 1908 to 1910. She was married in 1910 and widowed in 1940.

She was active in the Valley Baptist Church of San Rafael and a Methodist church in Highland Park, Los Angeles County.

She is survived by four children, Jean Herzberg of San Anselmo, with whom she lived, John Eustace of Chicago, Ted Eustace of San Luis Obispo and James Eustace of Los Angeles; a sister, Grace Blake of Santa Monica, Los Angeles County.

She also is survived by eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo. Inurnment private.
