RICHARD J. GINGRAS
Air Force veteran
Richard J. Gingras, a San Rafael resident who spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, died Jan. 28 of diabetes. He was 66.
Mr. Gingras was born in Lewiston, Maine, and grew up in Holyoke, Mass.
He graduated from St. Joseph’s Grammar and High School.
Mr. Gingras’ assignment in the Air Force during his last three years of service was as a diplomatic courier to Vietnam and other areas.
He retired because of ill health after 23 years with the Marin County Sheriff’s Department.
He was a member of St. Isabella’s Church, the Air Force Sergeants Association, the Marin County Employers Association and the Marin Peace Officers.
In 1955, he married Lucille Roselli.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lucille; sons, Richard II, Steven and Neal; daughters, Amy Gingras and Noelle DeMare; and grandchildren, Kristina, Robert,Jennifer, Kelli and Kyle Gingras and Nicholas DiMare (sic).
Services were yesterday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marin Catholic Education Fund or to the Diabetes Association.
