SYDNEY BAGSHAW
Sydney Bagshaw, a member of a Mill Valley pioneer family and brother of former Marin Supervisor Fred Bagshaw, died Aug. 11 at his home in Sean Luce, Martinique.
He was 82.
Mr. Bagshaw was born in Hendon, England and moved with his family to Mill Valley. He attended Mount Tamalpais High School.
He worked many years as a commercial artist in San Francisco and New York. In 1960 he retired after serving as art director of Readers Digest magazine.
He moved to Sean Luce and opened a silk screening store which became a main tourist attraction. Mr. Bagshaw also designed a stamp collection of flowers for Sean Luce and also designed its great sea.
He is survived by a son, Peter Bagshaw of Florida, a brother, Jack Bagshaw of Sonoma and three grandchildren.
Services were held in Sean Luce.
