Dentist’s Auto Kills Almonte Woman, 55
Mrs. Millie Colverd, 55, of Almonte, Marin county, was struck by an automobile when on the highway near her home Monday night and died en route to Ross General hospital.
Dr. H. A. Stone, Mill Valley dentist, whose car struck the woman, took her to the hospital. He was released on his own recognizance when he told Deputy Sheriff Leslie Tracy he did not see Mrs. Colverd until too late to stop his car and could not avoid hitting her. Mrs. Colverd had been a dog fancier for many years and exhibited prize-winning sheepdogs at Coast kennel shows.
Walter Colverd, her husband, is a Santa Rosa musician.
