Hangs Himself in the County Jail
Joseph Bottoni (sic), Point Reyes blacksmith, committed suicide last Friday night at the county jail by hanging himself by means of a strip of blanket attached to a pipe running across the ceiling in his cell. He labored under the impression that he was being pursued by armed enemies, who sought his life. He appealed to the Sheriff and asked to be locked in a cell for protection. While being held pending insanity proceedings he took his own life.
The body was turned over to Coroner J. Ray Keaton.
