VERA STUMP
Retired teacher

Vera Stump of Sausalito, a former teacher at Tamalpais High School, died of pneumonia Jan. 31 at Marin General Hospital. She was 99.

She was born in Santa Rosa and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley.

She taught Spanish at Tamalpais High School for 38 years.

She was an avid horsewoman and also taught horsemanship at Tamalpais High School.

A rose garden that once graced the entrance to Tamalpais High School was planted and cared for by Miss Stump.

She has no known survivors. Two younger brothers, Harold and John, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Russell & Gooch Mortuary, 270 Miller Ave., Mill Valley.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Vera Stump Spanish Scholarship at Tamalpais High School.
