WINIFRED LOUISE RUBKE
Homemaker

Winifred Louise Rubke, a native of Ross, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 1990, at her home in Pollock Pines, El Dorado County, after a long illness. She was 65.

Mrs. Rubke was a resident of Marin and San Francisco for about 31 years; she lived in El Dorado County for the last 15 years.

She was a homemaker most of her life and also worked for Quarter Master Corps in San Francisco in 1943. She was married in 1944 to John D. Rubke.

Mrs. Rubke was a great lover of animals. She especially loved French poodles and cats. Her hobbies included playing the organ and gardening.

“She was quite an artist and she enjoyed her family and grandchildren,” said her sister-in-law, Edith Snyder.

Mrs. Rubke is survived by her husband, John D. Rubke of Pollock Pines, El Dorado County; a son, John B. Rubke of San Rafael; two daughters, Pamela Ann Rubke Briel of Rescue, El Dorado County, and Donna Marie Rubke Ayers of Petaluma; and six grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home in Placerville. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Colma.
